• Protecting the bottom line of safety: safeguarding consumer personal safety, animal and plant life safety, environmental safety, and national security.

• Unified Market Access: Replace the "Great Wall Logo" and "CCIB" logos of multiple departments in the past, and establish fair and transparent market access rules with a unified CCC logo.

2、 Function
For enterprises, the role is very specific:

• Market pass: Products must bear the CCC mark before they can be manufactured, sold, imported, or used in business activities within China. For devices containing lithium batteries, this is the 'hard threshold' for entering the Chinese market.

• From "sample" tube to "product": It not only conducts type tests on samples, but also reviews whether the factory has the ability to ensure that every mass-produced product is qualified, and has continuous post certification supervision to prevent "certifying one set and producing another".

• The driving force for product upgrade: By complying with high safety standards such as GB 31241, enterprises are forced to improve the safety design and management level of lithium batteries and other products.

3、 Classification (by authentication mode)
CCC certification is not a single exam, but a combined evaluation model. The most common and typical mode used in battery products is:
Supervision after initial factory inspection and certification of type test

• Type test: Send the sample to the designated laboratory for full testing according to the standard.

• Initial factory inspection: Review the quality assurance capabilities of the enterprise, such as incoming material inspection, production process control, consistency control, routine inspection, etc.

• Post certification supervision: usually includes an annual factory audit and market/factory sampling testing of products, with a certificate valid for 5 years.

4、 Certification process (7 key steps)
A standard CCC certification cycle usually takes 2-4 months (excluding rectification time):

1. Application acceptance: Enterprises shall submit application forms, circuit diagrams, key component lists, etc. to qualified certification agencies (such as CQC and CCC certification centers) and sign contracts.

2. Type test: The enterprise sends samples to the designated CCC testing laboratory for comprehensive safety testing. If it is not qualified, it needs to be rectified until it is qualified and the type test report is obtained.

3. Initial factory inspection: Review whether the quality assurance capability of the factory meets the "Factory Quality Assurance Capability Requirements", usually including 2-4 person days.

4. Evaluation and Approval: After passing both the type test and factory inspection, the certification body conducts a comprehensive evaluation, approves and issues the CCC certification certificate.

5. Post certification supervision: During the validity period of the certificate, the certification body conducts annual factory supervision inspections and conducts sampling tests on the products.

6. Sign subscription and use:

   • Standard logo: Enterprises purchase the standard style CCC logo issued by certification agencies, or print/mold it themselves after applying for approval.

   • Electronic logo (if applicable): CCC electronic logo based on QR code.

   • The logo must be prominently displayed on the product body or its smallest packaging.

5、 Scope of Certification (Core Product Catalog)
CCC certification only applies to products listed in the mandatory product certification catalog published by the state. Directly related to the battery field you are interested in is the newly added directory scope:

• Power products: portable power bank (power bank), outdoor power supply.

• Lithium ion batteries and battery packs: applicable to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for portable electronic products.

  • Includes batteries for devices such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, Bluetooth earphones, smart wearables, and electric toothbrushes.

  • Excluding: ordinary dry batteries (alkaline zinc manganese batteries), nickel hydrogen batteries (currently still voluntary business).

• Other complete machine products: Complete machines included in the catalog, such as power tools, toys, information technology equipment, lighting equipment, etc. When the whole machine is certified, its built-in lithium battery, as a key safety component, must also have obtained CCC certification or be tested together with the whole machine.
